Halloween at the Balbuena

Learning English is not only about grammar or communicative skills. It is also about learning the culture of the countries where the language is spoken. Halloween is one of the biggest celebrations in all English-speaking countries. And we couldn't miss the opportunity of telling our students about this celebration.

Therefore, October 28th was a special day in high school. At English lessons through the different levels, students had the chance of learning about the Celtic origin of this celebration (it isn't as American as people think) or vocabulary related to monsters or typical Halloween creatures, singing Halloween scary songs or even savouring tasty Halloween recipes.

This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! (from The Nightmare before Christmas).
